Assistance Required - Fake or Real Explorer?
Hi guys,
First time poster here and I was hoping the community could help me out. I have found this for sale and want to identify if it's real or not. Bracelet looks to be stamped (not engraved) with: - D12 steelinox 62523h.18 at the clasp - 114270 at the link closest to the endlink - 455b on the end link - '18k' on the lug (this is the reason I think it might not be real as I believe only the numerals were white gold in the 114270) - 'R' on the lug opposite lug Thank you! No one stamps 18k. WG versions stamp .750
Does it run? How does the winder feel? Doesn’t look to be in great shape. If it’s not authentic, it’s old because no one is faking that bracelet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the feedback - I don't actually have it in my possession. I was looking to purchase. Bracelet is very convincing. From research I haven't really seen the model stamped on any links either (dubious of this too).

Watch model numbers are never stamped on the bracelet of any model.

OP no offense, but TRF members as a whole should be careful pointing out every bogus detail. In another life I was very into collectable putters, often the people making the fakes would create accounts and ask for insight, which in turn enabled them to better fake the real ones. Not saying this is one of those situations.

Your thread seems ‘real’. The watch is fake.
