US Rolex papers...

Hi watch friends,

One dealer told me that Rolex does not issue punched papers in the states.

Wondering if I can verify this here?

I'm looking at a gmt tritium 16710 but the paper is typed in black not punched.

Concern will be if the paper is true to this watch....

Thanks

The serial number on the GMT II 16710 papers in the USA were typed not punched.

On the earlier warranty papers (depicted in the first photo) you will find the style number typed above the serial number and on the later warranty papers, the style number was placed below the serial number. The last four digits of the style number indicate the original bracelet that was found on the watch unless it was changed out by the selling dealer. 6251 would be a Jubilee 62510 and 7879 would indicate the 78790 bracelet and so on.

Your main question was answered above, but let me add that there were plenty of Rolexes sold in the U.S. with punched papers, just not as late as those GMTs.
