As an owner of the ceramic- I prefer it. It is more durable when it comes to scratches on the bezel- I 've had a SS model too- both are great watches, just prefer the "beefier" ceramic- mine is a October 2016 production. PLus I have the glide lock system versus the expansion link and as a diver, I actually use this watch UNDER WATER- with a wet suit as designed!

The glidelock is truly a good addition! I would have to agree with this.

My vote is for the 16610. I bought one in 2004 and still wear it occasionally because it looks great and fits so nicely. To me, the proportions of the 116610 just don't look right.

I think both look great but the ceramic is just more appealing to me. The ceramic bezel is pretty much impossible to scratch and I like the new clasp as well.

exactly. however, the dimensions of the older models are more appealing to smaller wrists like myself =)

I like the insert and bracelet better on the 6 digit. I do miss the sea dweller I parted with to buy it.

Both lovely watches, although i prefer my 5 digit mid 90's Sub. Well balanced watch for me personally. Not that i have worn it for like 13 years. Will change that up i think.

116610 six digit is definitely better given upgraded bracelet, clasp, bezel etc but the 16610 five digit is still an amazing watch and sometimes quite a bit cheaper to buy so arguably better value!

If you’re a bracelet guy, the Sub-C. If you’re a strap or NATO guy, the pre-ceramic.

I have a 5 digit with a later model SEL bracelet on it. Perfect fit, best of both worlds.
