Post 2 shows some macro of my VC with a cheap lens from amazon. Finishing is objectively superior to GP. I've held a Laureto side by side on 2 occasions and it's nice but it is not comparable to a Geneve seal watch. GP is a lot of watch for the money in the current market, no doubt.
Thank you, that is precisely what really counts to me. Not heresy, hype, or fandom. Also, timekeeping, durability, and I'd be lying if I didn't say brand recognition.
For example, I've heard servicing a GS is commensurate to a PP service. GS does a lot of things better than PP, but that is a huge negative.

Has anyone purchased a Laureato recently? Just took delivery of mine today and I was surprised to see they changed their boxes. No longer have the nice wooden box.

I think I read something about them going to more eco friendly packaging

Got it thanks. I’ve never really cared about the box, I was just surprised. They did include a nice little travel roll though which is a welcome inclusion.

Imho the smallest box is the best box. I’d like very high quality materials but keep it a 6” cube and I’m impressed.

I'm not typically a rose gold fan, particularly with a bracelet, but wow. Just wow...

Looks great, but 54k seems ambitious

Is onyx particularly difficult to work with or something? The article says something about production being limited by ability to produce rather than an arbitrary decision.

Would you mind post a picture of the box you that came with your watch? I'm intrigued as I too didn't get the nice wooden that I regularly see in YouTube vids and such.

Here's a picture of my box

The new box comes with pouch inside ..

The above box is just a delivery box and not the actual box

As of today;

- the grey I bought from are saying they can’t get any Laureato at all full stop!
- one AD I’ve been to in store has empty cases and says all allocation for the year gone
- another AD saying they have none (asked about chrono version) and can’t say when they will
- Watches of Switzerland have the Laureato range as enquire now, when it used to be add to bag and deliver next day
- none on watchfinder
- chrono 24 seems to be showing blue dial 42mms that were 10-15% discount 6 weeks ago as now being 3-4 x list price. Literally ones on there at £20k - £30k

So my question, what the hell has happened over 6 weeks!?

I had an inkling these would be the next hot watch as those who can’t get a Patek/AP/VC would naturally turn to the GP Laureato. But i didn’t think it would go from discount to unobtainable in a few weeks

Late to this party but...No.
