How hard to get a Milgauss?
How hard is it to get a Milgauss from an AD with no prior purchase history? What would be a reasonable wait time?
Thanks, NYC2023 |

Maybe a bit harder until Watches and Wonders. People are still speculating whether it will be discontinued, so higher percentage of potential buyers is willing to collect it if they get a call. But, if Milgauss survives yet another year you will probably get a chance in April to get it practically without waiting. At least, that’s what happened to me last year.

I imagine compared to the rest of the SS professional lineup, it is likely one of the "easier" to get, but since I have no idea how many they make, wait time could be similar to a sub - meaning 100 people waiting for 100 subs is the same as 10 people waiting for 10 milgeese (not a typo).

Certainly, no harder than my Starbucks, which I got after A wait with an AD with whom I had zero, Nada, zilch, donuts, not a darn thing of history. In short, I walked in, I asked, for it, I waited, I got it.

This model is actually very hard to get. You landed a beautiful piece with no history. Rare in this market.

It took me about 8 months if I recall correctly. Only history at that point was a DJ41. Just from seeing others incomings I would say that’s roughy average give or take 2 mos. Low volume ADs seem to take quite a bit longer.

No problem. Just a guesstimate loosely based on mine and what I’ve seen of others.

Many assume because they are easy to get because of the perceived lack of popularity, but two separate ADs told me told me they simply do not receive many of them.
The first one said they get 4 Z-Blue a year, and the second one said they could sooner get me a GMT (which they did). |

People have been hyping up the discontinuation of that model for a decade. Nothing yet. I originally loved the design, but over time, I've gotten over the FOMO and have realized that the current model is not worth the asking retail price, IMO. The watch is old, the oldest in the current line-up. I don't think $9.2K is justified for a shiny Oyster Perpetual with lower power reserve and a lightning bolt hand.

This is what I keep coming back to, beyond the lightning bolt hand(I like that). With that being said there is something about the discontinued white variant that I like but not at current pricing.

Took me 2 years and 4 dealers, no luck. Went grey. I think blue vs black matters. Black seems to be less popular, made in lower qty, and harder to get.

Took me about 18 months of waiting to get the zBlue. In that time I was able to get a Sub Date and a mint green DJ41 with fluted bezel from the same AD.
