I’m thinking this. White gold? Platinum?

Why do you think it’s not significant?

70 years seems like a pretty significant milestone to me. 75 years even more so.

I don’t know why, but in society, anniversaries that are multiples of 10 are deemed significant. Multiples of 25 more significant. Even more significant when they overlap.

Well, if history is any indication, then it's just another year. What did Rolex do to the Submariner on it's 30th anniversary? How about 40th? And 60th? Why would 70th be different? If anything, it would be happenstance. I doubt they'll announce their "70th anniversary Submariner."

I’ve said before I don’t think they are doing anything.
But didn’t they do a 40th anniversary Explorer 2?

Not sure the Exp2 was intentionally released on its 40th as an anniversary unique model, as it didn’t have any unique features like we’ve seen on the GMT or Submariner 50th. Either way, I doubt Rolex will make a grand announcement of 70 years of submariner. One would’ve thought they’d release the 41 lineup at anniversary. Who knows though, just challenging the idea that every decade needs an anniversary model, as that hasn’t been the case in the past

Was ‘60’ just another year for the Day Date?

Not to Rolex, they released the Olive Dial ANNIVERSARY model….

So history isn’t really an indication at all is it?

Luckily AD’s will be offering a discount if you buy the two together!

70 is a weird number. Needs to be saved for the 75th year

One thing Rolex is not, they’re not Omega who seems to have an anniversary model every other year.

A platinum version of the a 1680 red sub would cool.

I thought the Exp II just rolled a 50 year and pretty much no significant change to speak of. I can easily see the 70th sub slipping right by with no fanfare at all.

Red dial, return of the hulk, or a colored dial for the ND Sub.

Not going to happen for years with the sub, many other models need updating first. Thinking 5 years from now sounds right.

Would like to see a stone dial option come back into the Submariner line like the lapis dial or take the Falcon eye from the 42mm yachtmaster and put on the WG sub.

I'm sure they will introduce a new dial color or maybe a new metal/TT but since they just completely revamped the Sub in 2020 by moving to 41mm and adding a new movement they can't do anything too revolutioary.

I think 2023 is the year of the Daytona.

Would be so awsome. So I don’t need to chase after the vintage
