Thanks for the jump. Had a quick look but gave up after Farrer twice said that Rolex introduced 8-digit serials in 2017.

The reseller masterfully argued that service gentleman into a corner.

Looks like an honest mistake that was made from lack of attention and thoroughness on their part. But..

If the buyer had let them open and fully inspect the watch hopefully the confusion would have been avoided. The buyer should also have brought the warranty card with her. She could have been advised to do that and perhaps been given all the information proving authenticity at time of purchase.

So ladies DJs don't have 8-digit serials? I'm actually completely ignorant myself on this.

His point seemed to be that the serial had a Z in it but that it was too modern to have Z as an indicator of year.

I'd love a clarification on this.

he seemed extremely confident in his conclusion and then didn't admit his mistake when he knew he was wrong, he just kept saying he didn't get a good look at it. in that case he shouldn't have so confidently said what he said based off a 2 second glance, even talking about the intricacies of the dial and diamonds on the bezel lol. also this was petty as hell by Farrer but he's out to make content so i get it

this doesn't surprise me either, i don't even wanna walk into rolex ADs anymore because most SAs are spoiled

i believe the random serial (8 digits) came out in 2011 (not 2017)

The grey dealer is being a jerk and the AD is full of it.

All this nonsense because of a random serial number which happens to start with a Z.

Boring video if you asked me.

Horrible. Isn’t it illegal to record without consent in Arizona? Lawyer up.

8-digit (a.k.a. random) serials were introduced across the whole Rolex line around 2010 to 11, some say from late 2009 - but 2017 is way off.

I agree completely the service rep did not own his mistake adequately. You are correct.

Seems the reseller was both wrong and right then?

Thank you.

Seems he was wrong on the detail but correct in the larger argument.

Yeah, but to say it twice when it's one of your main points isn't a good look if you're trying to come off as an expert.

Nothing worse than two wannabe rich people who end up sounding poorer than the poorest people, and a glorified buy here sell here used car salesman arguing over who said what.

They’re all bums. Nothing exposed. Just all bums made for each other.

On behalf of true wealthy Rolex owners/investors I feel shame and apologize.

Reported!!!!!

In all fairness, for a non scripted confrontation done in a single take, I thought he did well. I sure as hell couldn't have done a better job going against such a hostile sales rep with "25 years of experience" in their own store.

Unprofessional AD but two wrongs...

Amazing how little most ADs know but pretend to be experts.

Based on the mention of Chandler AZ, and a wuick look on google street view, the AD seems to be Coffin and Trout Fine Jewelers.

Wow, I really didn't think I'd see his name being erected on this forum again, props to him for working around the clock and reaching around the AD's to look after his client.

A true hero in the community and a stellar closer with his mouth.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Who is this grey dealer? Legit. He was calm the whole time. ADs are hiding watches in the back, telling you to buy extra diamonds, and avoiding walk in customers... then this guy is actually flying out of state to his client to prove it was real in front of the AD. LOL. COME ON! That's service.

The AD with "25 years of experience" used google to look up the serial number then his loupe to look at the watch bezel and dial... and then was sounding like a normal over-confident person. He wasn't mean about it, except he was wrong... LOL he needs to get his behind back in training.

But really though most AD reps are not well versed in anything except how to take inquiries of interest in front of your face, then throw it away. LOL.

That was an entertaining video, really liked the way the grey dealer calmly let the AD talk about how he is so sure that this is an aftermarket piece to then just lay out the facts :D
