New Radiomir opinions

The PAM 1334 and PAM 1335 Radiomirs are coming into the boutiques. I had seen a previous announcement about them, but I don’t see it on website yet (unless I overlooked in error). But I’m curious what the forum’s opinion on these are, especially anyone who’s seen these in person. I know there are some hard feelings about where Panerai has been going as a company, with some nostalgia for the past, understandably. However, I’ll admit that these two Radiomirs are VERY attractive with the cool dials, patina steel case, and 45mm size. But everyone has their preferences.

I like them and will check them out when my AD gets them. I have made peace with my feelings on where Panerai is going and has come from. I enjoy the models I like and dismiss the rest, including the marketing.

Well put, William. Not everything is to everyone’s liking, and most companies need to ‘evolve’ with the times, and clientele. But they do still come out with nice pieces that can be worth considering. It’s just that I recently bought the white dial Submersible, so I wanted to cool it a bit with another purchase so soon :)

Agreed. A core reason these caught my attention is because I don’t have a wire lugs Radiomir in my collection.

I’d like to see them in person. They look very well done. Grained texture dial with what looks like a bit of fume.

Price is a bit steep at USD7K for a base Radiomir with p.6000 movement. I get it, new degrade effect dial, blued hands and and polished-media blasted-polished case, but it’s hard to justify over USD2K increase over 753

They both look really good.

I wonder if they have screw-in or press-on case backs?

Good question; unfortunately I can’t tell from the pictures I have available.

They are really experimenting with case materials and finishes. I like what they are doing. But movements should come first

Apparently Panerai has a trade in program for preowned Panerai toward buying a new one. So that may be an option.

Nice. I liked the smaller non wired 1940s etc etc but they seem to have dropped off the face of the earth?

Got to check these out in person over the weekend. Didnt really bother to take pics, but I had great impression of the duo, especially the grey dial with the graduated color effect, very sharp in my eyes.

The only small knock on that piece is Panerai didnt come up with a grey or grey-themed strap and instead paired it with another standard brown strap - the blue dial piece has a matching color leather strap, which I personally thought worked out well…

Thanks for sharing these details of your visit. I also like the black/grey dial version. You make a great point about the strap. I’d love to see a proper grey strap that they’d pair with this release, but oh well.
I think about trading in my 587 MMilitaire which I don’t wear for this Radiomir, but then I think that’s a lopsided trade since 587 is more valuable I believe.

the doomed crystal, patina steel case and the p6000 movement looks like the same as the pam 1243 Eilean. I would prefer the Eilean over these 2 new releases, as their prices are very similar.

They look ok but hardly a new design?

Panerai are close to the leader in model numbers.

To be fair the grey strap idea came from the SA, I thought 1334's brown strap combo looked a bit odd but couldnt quite pin it myself until the SA said it.

Value argument aside, the 587 also has display back which I personally much more prefer...

That is a tough choice
What are the arguments for a 210? I know it has an open back, while 1334 doesn’t. Any other strong points for you?

While I like the gradient textured dial, I’m not sure if my enthusiasm will wear off after time. Something tells me simpler might be better. With that said I have a decent size collection, so I don’t necessarily need a plain black dial for an everyday type piece. I keep going back and forth

I recently bought a 210. It’s incredible value and pure old school.

I would prefer no fauxtina. I think the movement in the 210 is also nicely finished and is a pleasure to look at (obv that’s subjective).

Saw these the other day in person, didn't try on but caught my eye, I’m just a sucker for wire lug Rads. Never even seen that LAB ID watch before, regretted googling and seeing the insane price though, stunning imo.

Same here. Can't do anything much bigger than 42mm without looking like I strapped a saucer to my wrist.
