Aftermarket strap source?

I like the OEM strap that came with my Submersible. But at $200 a throw, getting more could be costly. Any other recommendations?

I purchased a manarea strap for another watch brand. Very high quantity and reasonably priced.

I have purchased from Corriga, Micah, and Gunny…all are great. My favorite by far is Aaron from Combat Straps/Aaron Bespoke. Fantastic quality, service, and customization.

I've purchased some rubber straps from Panatime and Strapsco recently. For around $15, I don't think they can be beat for a nice change of color and variety. I plan to wear them a month or two and do a short little opinion post with some pics in the near future. I will note, the rubber straps I bought have a very similar look to Panerai style, but in no way are branded or marketed as a Panerai product.

Panatime has always shipped fast and provided a solid product at reasonable cost in my experience. Just ordered from them last week actually.

Did you try any of their rubber straps?

Is the Panerai rubber straps really worth the premium?

$25 for rubber straps, I’m wondering if the cost/quality difference is worth the Panerai OEM cost

The black one is OEM Panerai, the rest are Strapsco. I think they are great. They feel a little more silicone like, or slick than rubbery. They are a hair shorter and not quite as thick on the ends but about the same at the case ends. Also, no tubes.

Unless the name is important, there is no way Panerai are worth the price difference to me. Granted, I've only used them a couple months, but they seem well worth it. At the time, I paid $16 each, buy 2 get 1 free.

The Strapscos look good. I bought some leather straps from them. Same story, pretty good value for the moolah.

Thank you! Hey, it’s only $16 so definitely worth a shot.

I was looking at the rubberB options. They are almost if not more expensive than the OEM Panerai!

I’ve used a few rubberBs on my Rolex models and they are great. However, they are the only option if you want a quality rubber strap on a Rolex (or they used to be).

If having the name stamped on it isn't that important to you, I don't think you could go wrong with them. I forgot to add in the original post one of the other things that led me to the strapco style/brand was they didn't try and create a fake by branding it Panerai. It's kind of hard to find an aftermarket rubber strap that's not falsely branded. I don't have a problem with the style looking like Panerai as long as there's no markings identifying it as such..... But that's just me, we all have our own quirks

Also, speaking to your first question about Panatime, I have ordered some of their buckles and deployment buckles. At face value, they seem highly comparable to Panerai for the cost. It's on my agenda to post some pictures as a comparison of the buckles and straps I just haven't gotten around to it yet. So, if you're looking for a cheap alternative deployment buckle or other buckle style check out Panatime before paying $500. With that said, before anyone chimes in and bites my head off, I am not saying a $20 buckle is going to be the same quality as a $500 buckle. I'm just saying at face value, in the hands, they seem very good quality and comparable considering the price difference (to me).

Agreed. I've never purchased a strap from Panatime (well, I did buy a Nato strap there, but not for a PAM), but I have purchased plenty of buckles, pins, spring bars, etc. and have never had any issues. As far as regular PRe-V buckles go, unless it were gold, I wouldn't pay the premium to buy OEM Panerai spares. Deployants, etc, I'd go OEM.

THIS.

I just took delivery on my second order from Vintager and Micah’s work is outstanding.

The green American canvas strap I put on my 915 is probably the best strap I’ve ever had on a watch. Great material, durable, looks superb, very comfortable.

Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I like this one so much I’m ordering another green one in 22mm lug width for my 1223 and 973.

Strapsco black leather on Submersible. I like it. Thick enough to hold up watch, very affordable.
