I do try to minimize my losses in case I have to sell. I've realized that my interest changes quite often, so I like to update my collection once in a while.
With this in mind, I always buy pre-owned for all non-Rolex, and try to get Rolex at MSRP or at a little premium. However, the secondary market value is not the primary thing in my mind. I don't believe in buying other brands to build relationship at an AD. |

Yes, it makes it easier to justify spending so much money on watches.

Semi-yes, no one likes to take a bath if they have to sell for whatever reason. If I can get my money back I'll be happy after considerable wear of the watch and if I make profit, that's a big bonus.

No, because I never buy thinking I might sell. I also write the money off mentally.
I know guys that include watches as part of their nett worth which to me is just mental. |
