Icon20 DJ 36 too big for a female?

Hi,

I’m new here and to the Rolex world and was hoping to get advice from you guys.

I bought my very first Rolex in July 2022 from an AD here in Sydney, after a 4 month wait. I was on the waiting list for a DJ 31 and DJ 36, but the 36 became available first. I got a Stainless Steel & 18k Everose Gold with white MOP Diamond Dial Jubilee Bracelet. I love my watch and I’ve always liked big watches but somehow, I feel it’s a tad too big on my wrist. It’s probably what the salesperson from Rolex said that unfortunately stucked to my head. She said the 31mm would give a classier look. I got lucky to be able to get my Rolex after just waiting for 4 months. A lot of people I know waited for much longer. I wouldn’t want to wait again as I might have to wait longer this time so I decided to purchase it even if I was half hearted about the size.

What do you guys think? Would really appreciate some input as it’s kind of bothering me. For reference, I’m female, 46, 5'2” and 58 kilos. My wrist size is 15cm.

Thanks.

Excellent

The ladies in my local watch club wear 36-42mm watches. I don't remember ever seeing smaller present.

On your hand it looks perfectly fine, i think 31 would look too small. Overall very good looking piece.

Is the 36mm watch comfortable after wearing all day?
If you tried a 31mm how did you like looking at it compared to the 36mm ?

I, personally, don't think that is too large at all. I like the 36mm on women. It doesn't overpower your wrist at all. The lugs don't hang over your wrist, either. I think your wrist is perfectly suited for it.

There is a very good chance that if you got the 31mm, you'd eventually think it's too small IMO.

36 works for both men and women IMO. Personal preference if you like it smaller or larger on the wrist.

A lot of folks on this forum think bigger is always better, so you may hear some of that. I don't follow that school of thought, I think it depends on wrist size and personal preferences.

In your case, I think the watch suits you perfectly as the lugs do not hang over your wrists.

To me it looks like a keeper

Looks great on you. My petite wife rocks her 36mm DJ on jubilee but also two 41mm Tudors and wants my Submariner and BLNR!

Looks sensational.

I think 34 might be your Goldilocks size, but between a 31 and 36, I think this works out best for you.

That watch is classy in any size, wear it in good health always.

Quite honestly that looks amazing! Sure you could also run the 31mm if you wish but this one is perfect.

It seems like bigger is the trend for ladies with the trend for men starting to move in the opposite direction. One of the saleswomen at my local AD wears the TT Exp 36.

Absolutely not!!
The 36 is perfect for you and I would say you could wear a Sub or GMT.
My wife has a slightly smaller wrist and she wears a 36 as well.
It looks classy and modern.

That looks GREAT on you. Congrats! Wear with pride

The lugs do not overhang your wrist, so it is not too big.

Looks good IMO.

There are 34 MM DJ references as well, which might be the sweet spot for you if 31 feels too small

My wife wears 28, 36, 40 and 41.
I think those sizes look very nice, modern on a woman.
