Re-dialed 1954 AIR KING?
This just arrived at my office and I am having trouble pin pointing if it's the original dial, or hands for that matter. The dial has a air king font I have never seen and there is no Swiss text to be found at the bottom.
What I know so far:
That being said I am not sure of the correct Reference number, online documentation would have this as a ref 5500 but the serial would place it as a ref 6652, which is a transitional model to the 5500.......At this point pretty sure this is a Franken watch that was rebuilt with parts available at time of the service. Thanks for your input. |

What are the model and serial numbers on the case? Looks like a redialled mid 1960s dial, and 1002 caseback is normal for a 5500 Air King. Mid 1950s and 1960s serial numbers can be confused as Rolex rebooted in mid 1950s.
