Hopefully not LA. If so, name and shame. If it's ABC, I wouldn't be shocked - a lot of the talent left in the split.

Nice crawfish. You were pretty definite in your prior post on the matter.

Thanks Joe, that's good to know. I am getting close to needing a full service for my 2008 model GMTII. I have heard good things about Melbourne RSC but happy to hear Sydney also great.

Nice.

The RSC touched it up without requiring a service?

Glad you got that sorted. I could imagine your reaction when you first saw that disaster job.

Happy it worked out in the end.

So this isn't the work of a RSC then but rather a independent with close ties to Rolex....is that right ??

Which ever way the difference is remarkable. The right brushing wheel and plenty of experience I would guess.

how does one know there's a sc in sf or anywhere else when it's not listed on the rolex website?

When it comes to brushed finish like the sub, does it take material off too as in polishing?

Well... Giovanni's is an authorized service center. Are ABC and LA authorized?

What does "authorized" mean exactly? Does LA have a parts account? They get parts regularly, so I guess so. There are many independents who have a parts account, which I guess means they're "authorized" by Rolex to work on their watches.

What makes Giovanni different is that he's actually affiliated with RUSA... in some way that I don't exactly know. You walk in there, and it looks like a Rolex owned place. That's unusual. Do you know if he does Warranty work? Last I asked, they couldn't source me a bracelet and fit it - they had to ship to RSCNY who would fit the bracelet to the watch and then ship it back.

Saved by RSC

Giovanni owns the shop - but basically the Center behaves as a RSC would. They have or can get parts etc.

I love the personal service, honesty and integrity there. I would send any modern Rolex there.

Furthermore, Giovanni is passionate about watches...it's not just a job. Whenever I'm taking in a Rolex and wearing another brand, he always asks to see it the non-Rolex. Love seeing him pull his loupe down to check it out!
