I prefer the 5980, concerned the pushers on the 5524 would dig into my wrist, happens on other watches when I wear on my right hand.

Could be an issue. Do you wear your watches relatively close to your wrist?

Not really, my Rolexes are no problem but my AP 44 can't be worn that way, obviously the pushers are larger but the 5524's look pretty big too.
