Broke down and ordered a Bergeon 7825 tool

6767 and 7825 for me. Scratched the lug backs when I first started using them but getting good at it now. You can't see the back anyway!!

I wanted to get one to change the bracelet for a strap, but, in the end didn't want to wait so I used a wooden toothpick and a single sided tool I use with my older DJ. I don't know if I risked damaging the watch, i hope not, but it worked easily, well and cheaply (of course if I'd damaged the watch, cheap would be my last concern).

ALSO dont get the springbars out and mobile and let go with the tool as that will cause the tensions of the spring to pop the sides out once they are free of the lug and scuff the side of your case ... Urgh

Does the 7825 also work well with an Omega Speedmaster Professional? Can anyone comment to this?

Thoughts on using this tool to practice on old watches to perfect the process? I have a couple watches i'd wear a lot more often if i could change out the strap with relative ease.

It is possible but not as easily from my experience.

This is only due to the fact that my speedmaster spring bars are not double flanged so it made it trickier to grab.

Yes, but the 7825 is better, as it's modeled after the Rolex 3200. Don't bother with any others.

i found this video that shows how easy it is to remove the bracelet. I like his technique, clean and scratch free.

I cringe watching some videos where they kept digging the lugs to remove the springbar.

Get a case cushion. The small amount of give in the case cushion lets you position and hold the endlink correctly.

I recently bought the 7825 from Esslinger online, and it works well. I still tape the lugs, as operator error is always a distinct possibility.

Before last week I would have said my Bergeon Spring bar tool and electric tape on the lugs was enough. Until I made a dogs arse of putting the steel bracelet back on the lower side of my BLNR. Too much force and the springbar has now caused abrasions on the front side of the lugs (filled me with rage). Naked eye you can’t see. But under light you can, painful lesson, Bergeon tweezers ordered. Enough said.

I purchased my 7825 from esslinger.com, I received it in 3 days.

I have tried to use it but it seems that I am not able to use it well, I have not tried a lot worried on scratching the lug of my Exp.
i have tried a bit with a Seiko SARB033 that I have as a beater watch and neither was able to use it :-(

I have seen several Youtube videos that seem easy and straightforward.

I would appreciate any suggestion.

I used my 7825 for the first time a few days ago.
You still need to be careful to not scratch the lugs but it works great.

I used it for the first time this past weekend. I did tape the lugs, but there seems to be scratches on the lug. Unfortunately, I can't be sure that they weren't there before I did the work replacing the bracelet, but it didn't look like the tape had any scratch marks on it. I was working on a 16710 that I purchased about 6 years ago that had a previous owner. Taking off the bracelet was easy, but getting the bracelet back on took me a little while to figure out how to do.
