Decision has been made....
Thank you all for your suggestions. I have made my decision and am in the process of wrapping up my new acquisition. I will post a new “incoming” thread (also include a link here) most likely tomorrow. TRF is such a great place for everything watches and it feels great to have so many people that are willing to give advice. Thank you all again!!

All terrific options- I love each one.
Personally, I'm a bit biased as I'm getting mine later this month, so I will vote for the SD. It will be my only Rolex (and watch) until I get my Daytona, which is due early '19. My second choice would be the EXII- I just love that watch. Of course Sub is great, too, and if this is to be your only Rolex that might be the best watch to represent the brand with as it's most recognizable, though some people would use that exact criteria as a minus, preferring something less common. |

Im a GMT owner, but for your one and only, Sub Date. It has everything you need plus the magical Glidelock...

Out of those 3 I'd say GMT or Sub. The Sub is a very classic look, but given that you have two time-only watches maybe you'd like to add a complication.
If not, Sub date for sure.

The 3 are absolutely great! What ever rocks your boat, no mistake here... First the 40mm case:
If SUB/C, I would personally go No-date, as I like the purity and simplicity of the watch. The GMT black is great, and I occasionally like the more "funky bi-directional hour bezel" for the GMT function as well as the polished centre links, which gives the watch a different flavour. The SD43 is another animal 43mm and taller case, it is much more substantial on the wrist, and much closer to what you may be used to with the PAM's. If you want to change, a Sub or a GMT are really the typical "Rolex size" Rolex to my opinion, that said, the 3 are Stunners! |
