Greetings,

Been thinking about getting a 36mm DJ. Just wondering if it might / feel look too small on my wrist which is right at 7inches. I know, "go to the AD and try them on." Eventually I will, but looking for opinions and thoughts of others who have a 36mm and 7 inch wrists. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: also everything I have is 40-42mm. Is the difference that noticeable transitioning from a 40 to a 36?

While I don't own a DJ 36, I love the way it looks on my 7.5 inch wrist. For smaller watches, just wear them a little looser than you would larger IMO

My 36mm DJ looks just great on me and I'm a hair larger than 7".

My other daily wearer is a 40mm Submariner and the difference is subtle, not massively different. I love both sizes, a Dress watch shouldn't be as chunky as a Sport watch anyway.

The 36mm looks perfect on my wrist which is around 7" also. I think 40mm+ watches are reasonably large, 45+ (planet oceans) look way too big on my wrist.

36 is to small especially since your now used to 40mm and up imo

It's not just a matter of mm. Look at the thread comparing the Ceramic Sub to the Aluminum Sub; both watches are 40mm but the case proportions, lug thickness, dial size, it all comes into play to make the new one look markedly bigger than the older one.

A shot of my DJ above, it's cut wider than most 36mm Rolexes, it has a wrist presence that is closer to 40mm than its actual width in a micrometer.

36mm with fluted bezel wears very nicely compared to a 40mm. 36mm smooth bezel wears small.

I have a 7 inch wrist and prefer something larger... thus my Explorer II 42mm

That being said, from looking at the pictures in this thread, the modern 36mm looks pretty good on that size of wrist.

If you like the look and it feels good... Go for it

Not a Rolex but still 36mm. I think my wrist is on the 8 inch side of things, very comfy and I think it looks good.

I am a fan of the 36mm DJ, I have a 7 3/4 wrist. I recently picked up the new DJ however I would happily wear a 36 DD/DJ if given the opportunity.

I dislike the big watch fashion and think 36mm is the perfect size for a watch. My wrist is 7 1/2". However, I mostly wear now a Seadweller.

I'm a 7.25 and wear a 36 mm day date. Size is great on my wrist.

I'm looking at the 36 as I'm not a huge fan of the DJII size and appearance on my wrist. I like the new DJ41, but not gonna hold my breath for a SS release anytime soon.

I have a 7.25 wrist and own watches from 31mm to 42mm. I'm not going to let one centimetre difference stop me wearing watches I like, and the vintage 31mm and 32mm pieces look pretty good in a retro way, and can't be beat for comfort.

At just over 7.5" I find the DD and DJ a good size for casual wear.

Nice photos. I'm not a DJ/DD owner currently, but having tried on nearly the entire Rolex catalog, I've found that the DD40 suits my 7.5" wrist perfectly. I found the 36mm cases to be a little smaller than I'd like to wear daily.

You will do just fine with a 36mm Datejust if have a 7 inch wrist. Below my 36mm TOG on my pretty round 7 inch wrist:

I also own a 16610 sub and the difference is not that noticeable.

I'm considering a DJ36mm too, I don't know what my wrist size is but I wear a sub with 3 links removed and the glidelock at 2nd notch from the smallest position. After reading this thread, I'm pretty positive on getting a DJ36mm
