I think yellow gold goes well with older gents.... I prefer white or platinum but I am smitten lately by a particular rose gold.. Might have to break my own rule for that one.

WG with green dial ever so special! Choose on you like all different but to me this is the very best combo out there.

My order would be:
1. Yellow Gold
2. Platinum
3. WG
4. Rose Gold

I have always wanted a RG watch and I purchased the RG Daytona. A beautiful watch but the color of the metal did not work for me. I tried it on several times at the AD's both in the store and outside in natural light. I bought it right so the flip did not hurt too much but I am off RG.

I was in this position some months ago and went WG with diamond markers. As many have said it is a little to medium under the radar and not so historic or iconic or 60's/70's (imo) as the YG. Furthermore, I figured it wouldn't date or perhaps go out of fashion with me as much as the RG or YG. Sure Joe Public might think it is a steel Rolex, but I know different - YG or RG would not be mistaken. Horses for courses though and who wouldn't be happy with any of them eh?

WG in 2016 is what YG was in 1982... I love the color and the feel. Shocked how much different it looks than my SS. The shimmer and color of WG are completely different. Saying WG looks like SS is like saying pink looks like red. They are in the same basic color palette, but very different shades. WG is a class act.

That being said, I still love RG & YG as well. Remove logic and get the one that sings to you.

To me, the Day-Date is the quintessential yellow gold watch.

I'm in the process of choosing a similar. Can you even remotely see the time in lower light?

Man, you really cannot go wrong, RG is such a beautiful color and the light reflects off it so well, but the WG is much more wearable and practical. YG is classic, good dillemna to be in. Good luck
