Is it optical illusion that makes my 116710 bezel look much 'fatter' than a 116610?

Saw someone wearing a 116610 today and their bezel looked much 'slimmer' than my GMT.

I'm curious if it is simply an optical illusion due to the typography on the bezel or if the sub does have a slimmer bezel?

Font size on GMTc make the bezel appear bigger. That's the main reason why I still prefer the older 16710. Even BLNR can't fix that.
