Myself too! 40mm is my outside limit. Agree with this 100%. The 36 works best based on the pics we’ve seen.

36 is classic and 41 is something up to trend.
See what you need

I had a 36 one snd it looked great on my wrist. Well proportioned looking from the side. But it always felt somehow top heavy, almost awkward to wear as it would often slip from the top of my wrist. I found 41 version actually better sitting in place due to smaller thickness to diameter ratio. Rolex 36mm watches can be a little “thick” relative to their size.
So 36 is nicer looking but be careful when it comes to wearing comfort Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm 6' 1" with 7.5 inch wrists.
I wore the above DJ36 daily for 15 years and never thought it was too small until I ventured on to the forums where everyone wants a Sub or GMT or other 40mm-ish sports watch. Sucked in by the hype, I bought a 40mm Sub date 16610 and put the DJ36 in the safe. After 4 weeks I grew tired of the Sub's bland look and flimsy bracelet and so put the DJ36 back on. Wow, did it look suddenly too small! I went to my AD and tried on various models including the new DJ36 (still too small) and the DJII (too chunky) and DJ41. The 41 did it for me and that's what I chose. Very happy with the size BUT don't forget I'd been "influenced" by the sheep-like folk who frequent these forums. Good to see so many on this thread saying go DJ36 to balance out the choice for you. The lesson here... go with what SINGS to you when you're wearing it BUT try on as many different ones as you can, even if you think they look wrong off your wrist. It costs nothing to try, and means more time for your AD to ply you with drinks and chocolate Hob-nobs! |

Unless you gave a 8 inch wrist the answer is 36mm. Good luck.

I'd go with the 41. You're a taller person, and the 41 will look better on your frame (as opposed to a closeup wrist pic that is not contextual at all)

More pick
I added some more wristshots (not of this watch).
This is a Chronoswiss Regulator which is a 40mm watch. You can get a better idea of wrist and hand size from these. |

40mm looks perfect on you! FYI I have the same size wrist as you (7.5 inches) and chose the DJ41 over the 36, no contest

I have had both the 36mm in many many references and also just recently had the 41mm. Keep in mind the 41mm isn’t truly 41mm. It’s 39.5mm when you actually measure it. I used two calipers on mine getting the same measurement and went to the Rolex forums and many others are getting the same measurement. It just looks a little larger than other 40mm Rolex references bc it has a larger dial to bezel ratio.
I also have the super case ceramic blusey that is 40mm. On the wrist the datejust 41 “appears” larger but when you focus on the case and not the dial. It’s easy to see the datejust 41 has a smaller case. |

I like the 36. The stick markers on the 41 are to thick.

I'm 6' and own both 36 and 41 mm Datejusts --the 36 is my favorite for more formal attire and the 41 for other occasions.
