Newbie to forum. Plastic surgeon and live in s florida. I do a lot of lecturing on weekends to docs and staff. I fly commercial usually in jeans and lecture in sport coat/pants/button down no tie. Usually wear white gold daytona on strap but bored with it. Prefer pateks and have 5167,5146 white gold, 5070 white gold, and 3700 and few other vintage non pateks. 5167 too casual - love with shorts or jeans. 5146 too formal and 3700 and 5070 pretty much occasional wear safe queens. Thinking of trading daytona towards 5712 (white gold or steel) or maybe 5711 steel? Advice please? What goes with jeans as well as sport coat/slacks for lecturing? Thank you all for advice

5711 Blue and 5712/1A are perfect. Also, Consider AP 15202ST

5712 or 5711 would be great. Since you're in south Florida I'd stick with the bracelet versions (humidity).

Spent the last 15 years on the road lecturing all over the world to docs and staff as well. Any of the watches you described would be just fine but I agree with code cow to stick with a bracelet. Florida is buggy humid!

No doubt both of them are great choice, but.....

I find that the 5712 dial look too busy for me....

I pick the 5711 for the clean look......

Having the 5711/12, And also 5167R, I would strongly recommend the 5712, if you didn't have the 5167 would say the R if to get it at a good price is also a great watch, but you have the A, so get the 5712, much nicer IMO than the 5711, some here will disagree but if you like the asymmetrical dial and complications it is much nicer than 5711.

If you really want a Nautilus, then only a Nautilus can scratch that itch.

If you want a nice Patek travel watch that can dress up a little more than your 5167a, then this is a nice one

I afraid I would be wearing the 3700, such a great piece it doesn't deserve to be a safe queen and negates the need for the 5711/12.

5712 and I'd upgrade to the 5164. These two are like the PP equivalent of the Hulk and BLNR Rolex pair, slightly more complex than the popular base models.

As others have stated, can't go wrong with 5711, 5712, 5164a, or 5164r. Also, as I'm sure you know since you own a 5167, none of the watches above hack, so if you are super anal about time setting and travel a bit, the aquanaut travel time might be the better option (in either metal)

Bit confused about thread heading....travel watch and then every model without a GMT is considered or do we just need a watch to go smart casual??

Was really looking for smart casual rather than dual time watch. Thanks for answers and made me rethink things a bit. Going to start wearing my 3700 instead of buying newer similar. ( at least for time being...)
Ended up buying a 1967 rolex 1675 today. Going to stay in the 60’s and 70’s for a while!
