I have numerous watches but the one I wear the most is my 5726/1a-010 (white), so I’d call it my “mostly daily.” It is covered with tiny scratches and even the outer band center links are worn a little smoother. The metal seems very soft. Do I care? No! Of course not. Life is not a dress rehearsal. Why the hell would I care what it is worth on some idiotic secondary market. If I needed to sell my watch to raise money then I have very big problems other than watches to think about.
I wear my 5205G as my second most common. Living in a very hot climate the leather band is slightly limiting as I am prone to perspiration, so I tend to grab the all metal watches more. But I love the 5205G, sublime beauty!

Because one day, you could be threatened / mugged / murdered for it.

I bought my 5712 10 years ago when nobody knew what it was. Because of the huge values and publicity on Instagram, it is now recognisable at 20 paces. I'm seriously considering selling it, because I scarcely wear it any more.

I have a very similar regret on a weekly basis.

Weekly? … you must have very high appetite for luxury. I mean I work hard and spend minimal for food and other things so that I can save few thousands a month and get $20,000 watch every year. If I save for 3 years I can only buy one Patek or Daytona; and the next 3 years won’t be enough to buy one.

I wear my 5726 daily (my Sub for “rougher” activities).
Life is too short not to enjoy what took me so long to get.
I have yet to encounter anyone recognizing the watch. It might be popular on the gram but that’’s not the general population. Many more women walking around with big rings.
In any case, it’s insured for market value, so easily replaceable.

Few years ago many people who have a Nautilus wear it like a daily watch without have little scratches problems……

Now seems this watch become so valuable not only because of the price from the second hand market but because it’s so hard to reach one from AD and also because if we look on the near future this situation will not improve soon….

So how many of us still use it like a daily watch without have any problems?

I got this problem. I basically stop wearing my 5711-1R ( unless I know its very safe ) and even that, I constantly worry about scratching it and it's becoming stressful. Yes, ironically the risk in value makes me want to wear the watch less. My dailies are all my "cheaper" watches like Omega, Tudor, Seiko... stress free wearing.

I wear my two watches regularly. 3940p and my 5711a blue dial- never worry about minor scuffs etc. But I also try to be a little careful and not flex or show off- usually under a cuff or sweater. I do understand why people also are nervous about wearing them too :-). Good to have different ideas and do what’s best for you- you will love it-it’s my only sport watch and I love mine :-)

What's the point of wearing a super expensive / fashionable luxury watch if you can't show it off? It's like buying a richard mille but keeping it under cuffs or sweaters - utterly pointless.
The only reason why we buy these watches is for showing off one way or the other. If you can't live with this, the hobby is not for you.
That's what it has become at least

No, thank you.

I wear my watches for me and me alone.

In fact, if I got zero attention from strangers in public, I'd be extra happy.
