is 5980/1ar desirable

As per thread title. This one has gone up in recent times also. Kind of ridiculous this market but nonetheless

I have one and I love it. I like it more then SS and the dial it’s awesome!!
It’s normal to go up in price. If you consider it’s a 57000€ list price you will see 75-80000€ it’s not very much compare with a 5711 or 5712 who are 27000€ or 36000€ in 5712 case and on the secondary market they have double list price!
Also 5980 SS it’s discontinued and I think when PP release a gold 5990 they will discontinue all line of 5980 and replace with 5168....,IMO

I saw one last year pre owned at a very good price and should have pulled the trigger. It’s Gorgeous!! One of the best dials PP has ever made and since its rose and not YG there is a softness to it that makes it super nice and I am not a fan of two tone. Which is why I didn’t buy it.

i sold it for the same reason and it was a big mistake. i miss it a lot, trying to rebuy:::)))
as i said a couple of times here, i should have never sold the 5712R and the 5980AR, the others i sold - including 5968A - i could not care less about.

Plus not pulling the trigger on its big brother 5980/1r when I had it in my hand at MSRP or less at the AD.

TT has always been an acquired taste, but given the low production volume, Patek has no problem selling this model.

I would say I never had a taste for it, but it has grown on me so much I keep looking it up and searching it on here. Now the price has gone up far too much and I'm left here feeling down about it.
This would probably be the only TT I'd ever wear. If I was to buy a TT Rolex I'd have stuck it in the safe and let it collect dust.

If it had that blue dial I would have snapped one up a while ago. The TT just jars too much for me on PP and AP, Rolex integrate it far better imho.
