Tudor Prince Oysterdate Submariner

Hi All,

Had an older gentleman trade in his Tudor Prince Oysterdate Submariner that was his daily watch for 30+ years. I know these aren't super super rare but this is the first one I've actually owned. Such a cool watch with the lollipop hand and Submariner on the dial. Thought I'd share some pics!

the blue on those tudors has always had a special draw for me - if that's a 79090, then even more so. I had one that was like NIB, owner had only bought it for special occasions like weddings, etc and it looked it.

Regret selling it but i couldn't stand wearing the newness off it.

Enjoy the watch

Super cool! The bracelet being folded link is surprising. Is it original or did he source a period correct?

That’s cool that it is original. Seems like folded links generally don’t survive and get replaced with later styles. I have a 79090 but it has a service bracelet. Doesn’t bother me, but yours being all original is a testament to the care it has received. Again, very cool watch.

My 1992 79090 has folded links and it's not the most comfortable, but I love this watch and it gets a ton of wrist time.

No. But if that isn't a 76100, I'll eat my Rolex Submariner ball cap.

This Tudor Submariner (mid 1970s 94110) walked into the shop I worked at in the late 1980s. Doesn't get wrist time any more (has become a safe queen), but still my favorite Tudor in the fleet.

That is quite possibly the prettiest watch ever!

you might wangt to keep the salt & pepper handy - i don't see a bit of difference, and doubtful there's any with the 76100 so it's 50/50

76100 has the Lollipop hour hand. I'm also familiar with the slightly crooked "T"s surrounding the Swiss at 6PM.

Unfortunately, no box or papers. It has a 89xxx serial number so it is an earlier model too. I am pretty sure he mentioned that he had it serviced a few years back. Not 100% sure though. I'm not sure what to think about the lume-- it doesn't light up anymore and don't seem to have much patina. Being tritium, would they have done something to the lume to preserve the look/avoid damages to the dial? Any thoughts? Here are some closer photos of the dial.
