The 'Patek you've never seen before' Topic

How about a thread with the most unique Patek watches ever made

MUST be unique piece, not just rare pieces
So if reference XXXX is made 500 times in red gold and 50 times in platinum … we're not interested in these 50
50 pieces is just too much

so forget about the 5004 steel, 5070P, 5131 …. way too much of these :-)

Let me start with these

These are probably the most unique

A chrono wordltimer, afaik only 1 piece ever mad

a 55 mm pilot watch
I believe 2 pieces made and imo both in the Patek museum

Now a few titanium pieces, all of them unique pieces but the reference does exist in other materials and the ( gold or platinum pieces were widely available) But the titanium were made for charity auctions

The 6000

the 5712 T

the 5004 T

5180 T

4 unique titanium pieces once made for a super collector
Skymoon tourbillon, the celestial, the gondola repeater

from the same huge collector a 3928 T with a HUGE diamond on the back

another celestial, ofcourse unique piece

A 5131 but not the world timer we all know, the one with 'Geneva view'

The 3670A
a very Limited edition, only 16 pieces
A top chrono made with a vintage NOS movement

a 5970 platinum with blue dial

And this may come as a surprise to most of you :-)
We all know the 5970 red, white and yellow gold with white dial and the platinum with black dial
BUT ….. how about a 5970 with salmon dial …..

or a red 5970 with black dial (no, not a swapped dial from a platinum piece, look at the dial , it is different)

a unique … damn forgot the reference

a unique 2499 in platinum ( once belonged to Eric Clapton)

I think this was a good start , please feel free to add a few
But let's stick to wristwatches, pocket watches are more easily found ( think about the super complications made decades ago food Packard and Graves)

Wasn't the 5004T made for the "Only Watch" charity auction?

Is that 5131 Geneva view a one off?

Some amazing pieces Bruno, thanks for posting. Sorry to be a pedant but I believe the 5970 blue face is actually a G rather than a P??

Love the 5970's and saw them posted originally by SJX. Very cool thread Bruno but for me I will simply lust after and settle for a good old 5970P black dial!

nope, pretty sure it was a platinum piece
A lot of guys wished the platinum would go into production with a blue dial ( this one is from 2008) but in 2009 they made the platinum with a black dial

For me glad they chose black as it makes it the sportiest and sexiest of them all IMHO! Blue changes look completely. It works great for the 5070 of course but for the 5970P black all day long for me! My favorite watch and grail so perhaps some day!!

Curious - no diamond at 6pm.........there's the normal adjuster between 6 and 7 but no diamond at 6pm which marks out the P variant on many models.

wonderful thread Bruno...I will contribute with three of my favourite dream watches EVER...two were commissioned and owned by Henry Graves Jr, both the Minute Repeaters attached you see, platinum and yellow gold minute repeaters ..I have attached two pictures of each from various sources over the net, I am sorry for taking them off the net without consulting sources..most are taken from hodinkee, and I owe it to them for sharing...one other that I am sharing has an interesting history..the chronograph you see in my attachment was actually made somewhere in 1937 and then cased in a different case, but later some time in 1940s a prominent owner requested for it to be recased in a different case of his choice (with interesting scrol lugs) and the dial also redesigned so as to have a huge minutes recorder..it is the largest minutes recorder on any patek chronograph and is believed to have been commissioned by a sportsman or a scientist who needed to measure precise minutes!! imagine the story and history..these pieces have such a history and look just so incredible that they absolutely top my list of dream watches.

btw, the gold repeater is 27mm while platinum one is 24mm in diameter hence they present a little different look.
