Hello everyone

Does anyone have a nice 3940P they are interesting in selling to me? (My first Patek!)

Thank you,

Welcome to the forum, Paul.
I think it's a great choice for your first (or only) Patek. One of the nicest Pateks IMO and in platinum it's always something special. Best of luck with your search.

Mine is not for sale but a pic always makes the post more interesting...

Since the 3940P has been discontinued more than 10 years ago, it is going to be harder to find. You may have a look at some of the large pre-owned watch stores, chrono24 and/or auction houses.

The 3940J is relatively common, but the 3940P seems to be a rare bird. BTW, beautiful photo of the 3940P, Tony!

Thanks Jon!
And to the OP - have you considered at all the 5140p? Similar to the 3940 but slightly larger case size. Some like it, some don't, but it's a more recent model so probably somewhat easier to find.

I love the 3940, just picked one up myself. I actually got a G...looks similar to the P, but less expensive and you get a display back. Just something to consider.

Hello, Tony.

Thanks for your kind reply. Your watch is exactly what I am looking for. Perfect.
W/regard to the 5140, I have a small wrist and prefer the dial set-up of the 3940.

With a little luck someone will want to part with theirs.

Best regards to all.

Well some like Mike (Goog53) were lucky enough to get a 1/5 salmon dial reedition for the London exhibition, now that is really awesome, can't believe no one went for it and it was sitting in an AD's safe, until Mike talked with Karl who knew the dealer and knew he had it in the safe, TRF work at it's best, I get the small size and all, but salmon dial and one in five??? Even I would have gotten it if proposed, makes quite the rare Patek, amazing that a few months after the exhibition it was still unsold
