5712 - anyone do rubber on ss model?

Hi all-

I currently own a 5167 on rubber. Am thinking of selling to fund a ss 5712.

I know the 5712g and 5712r models come are delivered on leather but come with an oem rubber alternate. I don't believe the ss model comes with additional rubber strap and is just delivered with bracelet.

I know the nautilus bracelet on ss model is great but have any of you guys who have ss model bought the rubber one and put it on your ss model?

If so, would be interested to see how it looks.

I don't think they make a rubber strap for the Nautilus. Only the Leather Strap. So if you buy a 5712, you would have to buy the clasp from Patek after the fact and a 3rd party strap. Rubber B makes a rubber strap that piggybacks the nautilus' leather strap clasp. Plus the leather strap nautilus' are PM models, so I'm not positive they make a OEM steel clasp. 5712R or 5712G the clasps would be Rose & White gold.

Respectfully, you are mistaken. The rose and white gold models are on leather but a tropical (rubber) strap is included in the box. No need for Rubber B for those models. For ss, I know it doesn't come with tropical alternate but i wonder if it can be purchased from AD and put on ss model. Hence, my post asking if any forum members have gone down this path. You can't fit straps on SS 5711 and 12 bracelet models, different end links.

I want to put a leather strap onto my 5711. PP won't sell you end links for the 5711 SS model.

I emailed AP bands to see if they'll make end links to suit. They replied with the following.

Yes we have however we would need to do a big investment and not sure there is enough demand to justify it.

For the strap we might do something in the future. The metal assembly we aren't sure yet.

when i bought the 5712R last month it came on a croc strap and a brown calf hide strap was in the box.

The brown one is a kind of composite rubber strap
