I had to be in Antwerp / Belgium last monday to attend the AGM of a company my family is envolved with .Flew out on sunday evening meaning I had some time on my hands before the meeting on monday 17h00 . I visited the local Rolex AD’s , nothing very exiting and the prices are slightly higher then Spain because of VAT . So wandering around the « diamond district « I stumbeld upon a second hand watch shop , the stuff in there is just amazing , I wanted to take some pictures with my Iphone but battery was critically low and I had to be able to answer the call from the person picking me up to take me to the meeting . Also , once in the shop I thought if I do this they may think I’m preparing a hold up or something ..
I took a look at a beautiful Patek and some amazing Breguets , but even if I wanted I never brought enough cash for any of these . The person attending me ( found out later he is also the owner ) understood that but stayed very courtious and patient . He spotted my SS Daytona and complimented and showed me the WG 116509 meteor dial on his wrist . So we started talking Rolex and explaining to him that I was more looking to find something for the wife’s Xmas and I had a certain cash budget on me . «Being in the diamond district that is what you need he said : I always make sure that my CC reader is out of order .. he not only had the sense of humour but also the one for business as I was to find out ...
Two hours of hackling during a cosher lunch later I decided to make a purchase but also had to get a family member to go and bring more cash the following day and have watch sent out to me .

Here’s a first picture with some indication of what it is and let’s see who can guess right .
The top of the stack is my 116520 box , below that is my 116660 box and the bottom box is the wife’s Xmas present in question . Stay tuned for for pictures ......

Got rid of the outer box and opened it up , still a cleaning cloth there .... what could it be ?

Here it is .... I know some will say "it is horrible " to be honest you have to see it in real to judge ; It is somewhere that over the top ugly that it becomes beautiful.
Yes the illustrus Leopard . I is second hand but in absolute mint condition . I wanted to order a new strap for it , but it will take till next year to get . I just hope she will like it . Sorry about the crap pictures , when I started this thread I thought my wife would be on her way out , it seems that she isn't now so I have to hide the thing a bit . You must understand .

Attempt of a wrist shot ... no way to get it over my hand . I did ask that they size it to the smallest position . My wife has very small wrists .
