Brothers Datejust

Unfortunately my brother passed away 3 months ago. While me and my family have been sorting out his stuff, we came across his Rolex.

We did have the watch checked by a local watchsmith who did verify it was genuine but i am not sure how knowledgeable he is, he also was quite rude to us when we came in the shop (not sure why).

So i've found this forum looking for answers, my mother says she has the box for the watch at her house.

If anyone is able to give me an indication as to whether the watch is real or not it would be greatly appreciated :)

Many Thanks!

I am unable to upload more images here... Not sure why and won't let me post a link to the images either so anyone who may be able to help identify would be greatly appreciated.

What's it weigh? Looks good. If the weight is right, i'm betting it's good

Wouldn't bank on the weight of it as a sign of authenticity.

OP, you need clearer pics of the dial, please. In particular, the coronet. Pic of the winding crown would also be helpful.

Looks good, but can't say for sure without more detailed high-res images.

What would lead you to believe that it is not authentic?

Most watchmakers can easily tell, even if they are rude.

I have no reason to not believe him! I only asked him to quickly check for me before i take it to be properly authenticated.

The closest AD to me is around 45 min drive it would seem so i will get it properly authenticated there.

I thought i would post here until i make the trip!

OP, if your mother has the box, does she have any of the paperwork? That is where most people keep the card and tags.
