Authenticity of this Daytona

Hi guys,

never thought I would post a question like this, but i need your guys help. My friend was gifted this watch and asked me what it is worth. I said that I think it is fake, but he insists that it is real. I have not seen it in person to check the laser edged crown for instance, but on the picture I do see a serial number. Even though I have searched the internet I can not find this model.

Can you guys (with all of your knowledge) give the final judgement: real or fake?

thanks in advance

im no daytona expert but theres many things that look off to me on that dial. I could be wrong but the numbers look cramped. the crown looks off and even the way the diamonds are set.

Here's a similar enough dial where you can see the differences..

Agree, at best it could be a bad aftermarket dial and bezel?

Tell him it looks nice.

Get it appraised for insurance purposes.

Then just let him live his life.

What's more important is the movement. I'd open it up if you're familiar on what to look for or have a watch maker check it out.

The crown is not even aligned, the 15/45 is in the wrong position. To me at least, the dial doesn't look real at all. From then on, the rest might not even be interesting.

The Coronet looks off, the numbers look off, the rehaut looks off.
Not speaking of the bezel of course…
Imho it can’t get any faker than this.

Nice find.

Those pushers look super dubious.

Dial is bad for a ton of reasons. The case lugs are pretty bad, so either it has been polished 30 times by a guy with a dremel, or that is wrong too. Bracelet fitup is bad, and the rehaut is not real. The pushers and crown are bad as well, even from that image.

So where I am, the only thing my completely untrained eye can't immediately call out as fake are the hands, THOUGH, those look too short as well.

So yeah, I don't think there is a single authentic-passing component on that watch.

This is a good find.

Even easier, just google the serial number and be amazed at how many other watches share the same one.

I vote it’s fake.

Fake - look at the pushers … no rings, should be two outside the screw down part.

Many other tells.
