I saw the Seamaster in two windows in Europe. Brussels and AMS. Great looking watch. Are they becoming available with no effort?

Agreed. Seems gimmicky and contrived to me.

I thought only some railmasters were hanging around. That speedie is a good find I’m guessing. I love the cmaster too, I wear that often.

Nothing to gain for me, just trying to help

Are these rare or uncommon? See them from time to time.

Can’t speak for everywhere but these were popular and received a lot of pub and some are trading above retail......

May I ask how much this dealer is asking for the speed master trilogy?

I’ll leave that part up to you, but you can PM me if you’d like to contact them in the US.

FYI this is NOT a trilogy box set, it is the three pieces that can be purchased individually.

They were said to be sold out some time ago, and I happen to think the faux age looks fantastic on them all. I'm quite sure some of you wear watches I wouldn't wear if you paid me. Ain't it great that we all have our own likes.

I was in what must be the last large independent Omega AD in New York today, sort of looking for one of these Speedy’s. The very nice salesman there said they had sold all of their’s a while back, but there might be some still lingering in stores like this though. Thanks for posting but I’d need to see it in person before buying.

I agree it is a watch best seen in person before buying. On first appearances it seemed a little too small and the plain steel tachymetre bezel makes the watch very understated compared to a 42mm with black. It is rather deceptive as although it looks quite a bit smaller the lug-to-lug length is the same (or looks it when compared to a 42mm and most of the smaller size is due to the lack of crown guards.

The watch has so much attention to detail and the matt dial is beautiful in sunlight. For me the faux patina looks right for the watch and it would look odd if it were white. I love Speedmasters and this add's a watch to my others that is a bit different and the original of which I could never afford.

If the faux patina is a deal breaker for some that's fine but it is a really lovely reproduction of an iconic watch, with a really comfortable modern bracelet.

The prices are high, agreed. You would have to love the watch, and I did.

Of course I've never gotten into old watches w faded bezels and cracked dials either. Love the Omegas--but that last round of seamasters did nothing for me. The Bond series w the wave dials were the best of breed. Then they screwed that up. Think the newest ones brought back the wave. Which is great.

I never understand the need for some to disparage the likes of others. "Gimmicky and contrived" wasn't necessary. This thread never asked for anyone's opinions re aesthetics. If you'd like my opinion of the Bond "wave dials," ask. I'd be happy to share how ugly I find them.

Sorry if I offended you; I guess I'm just disappointed with Omega's design direction these days. For context, I'm not a fan of Fender's "Relic" treatment to artificially age their guitars either. If it weren't for the yellow lume, I'd be very interested in the Seamaster Trilogy, so it's really too bad they haven't offered a variant with "new" green lume so that the entire watch could look like a modern interpretation of what the original did when it was new.

Regarding the Bond "wave dials", they certainly made Omega a ton of money but opinions like yours had to be why they decided to drop them on the current ceramic SMP 300 "Bond" watch (that technically isn't). I personally love the old waves, but I'd rather have none than the ones reintroduced on the newest SMP that was just shown at Basel. If only Omega would bring out a retro style 60's pie-pan...

He's probably joking. The wave dial is universally loved.

Omega should be thankful that even with so many mistakes we still love them.

Agree. I hate faux aging. Full disclosure...I also hate aging in general.
