GS: Snowflake vs SBGH267G

Hi guys,

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on my first Grand Seiko. I own an SKX, the Cocktail Time and a Samurai, but GS obviously is a whole other level.

My heart was set on the stunning SBGH267G, but today, I tried on the Snowflake as well. While both feel great on the wrist, I feel that the 41mm snowflake case suits me a little bit better than the 267's 39.5mm. I also love the Titanium, incredibly light. But then again, that stunning blue dial on the 267! Incredible.

What do you guys think?
  • Snowflake or 267?
  • Unlimited vs limited?
  • 41 vs 39.5?
  • Titanium vs Stainless Steel?
  • Spring Drive vs Highbeat?

The Snowflake is around $1k cheaper then the 267.

Thanks guys!

267

I guess it's got to be a gut decision, but I would go with the Snowflake.

They are both stunning, tough choice. Best of luck with your decision. I don't think you can make a bad choice here though.

Been wearing the snowflake for the last week.

My vote goes to that.

Spring drive tech and the accuracy it brings are nice additions to a traditional mechanical watch collection.

Mine is currently +0.5s after a week.

I'd go for the 267 because of dial and hi-beat LE.

If you have to choose, 267 only because of the limited production. You should have plenty of time down the line to pick up a 211.

My vote is for the 267 - I recently saw it in the metal and the dial is amazing. That and I favor the automatic movement.

^^ on the contrary, why miss out on the unique dial and movement of the 211?

I had an LE GS just recently but decided to give up on it once the Snowflake was bagged. Never regretted the decision. Snowflake - loving every moment of it.

Definitely the 267! LE means now or never. Snowflake will be around should you change your mind down the road.

I’m not as close as you are, but I’m also debating the same choices. I like the heft of stainless, but can’t get in with the Snowflake dial. Titanium just takes some getting used to. Also, I like the pure mechanical of the Hi Beat, but love the sweep of the Spring Drive. The GS models are all beautifully made, hard to find them and see many versions in person.

Oftentimes, I take my SS watches off as soon as I get home. Conversely, I have no problem wearing the titanium until I'm ready for bed. The Snowflake is very light, but doesn't feel cheap at all. We somehow relate density with quality, but there's no question GS's titanium watches are AT LEAST on par with the best SS watches out there.

Beautiful dial, the texture is fantastic. Tried one on recently, the watch is so well made, the case, the dial and bracelet all fit so well together.

Still love the feel of the Titanium and the Snowflake dial, but pulled the trigger on the 267.
Will be able to post pics soon ;)

Saw the 267 at the boutique earlier, and the dial was mesmerizing. I'm now 50-50 between the Snowflake and the 267. Both are breathtaking in their own ways, there really is no winner here.

I know, right? Extremely hard decision. But I went with the 267 because of that gorgeous dial, the hi beat movement and the fact that they are limited to 1,500 pieces. I might add a Snowflake in a year or two.

Just got the Fedex notification, will be posting pics next week.

Congrats in advance for the incoming!

I agree adding the Snowflake to the 267 would be perfect, as both have different dials with different movements. Both are so beautiful really. I would love to have both pieces in my collection too
