Nato/nylon strap demonstration

With all the internet lore regarding natos/nylon straps making spring bars fail I have made a video trying to make them fail. https://youtu.be/7HR348Kka0s

What I can say is if you have a watch on a bracelet and the spring bars fails the bracelet usually will wedge itself into the lugs and not release completely. On a nato/nylon strap it won't be able to wedge itself into the lugs, so it will release completely from the watch. I think some people confuse this with natos/nylon straps causing it to happen. When in actuality they just make it more obvious.

They real key is to use the correct spring bars, and a good quality version. They do not last forever, so I personally change mine out ever year or so. You can start to tell if they are fatiguing if the internal spring does not rebound quickly or have much resistance.
