5975J sold for CHF52K....

Just saw the auctioned price for 5975J sold for only CHF52k... What a bargain!

Market looks like very soft or is this only an isolated case?

I believe they add the buyers premium to the hammer price, so probably a bit north of 60K. So the final price is still higher than the original price from 2014. YG seems to be less popular than WG/RG.

It's incredible how far dress watches - or let's say non-sport models - have fallen out of fashion. All I know is that one day they will return to the fore and there will be a lot of head slapping by the rest of us... these are beautiful, incredible pieces...

I agree. Trends change. There are no good reasons for these beautiful watches to under perform the sports models by this much.

On my own part, I think that the ubiquity of of sports watches turns me off them. I'm one of those weird people that does NOT want a Nautilus because everyone else wants one. I want something different. I want to wear something different.

But then I'm not interested in buying the most showy version of a brands watch offering at all.
I deleted Facebook years ago, I don't have instagram, I don't give a F**K about likes or followers........ So I don't need a flashy sports watch. And I've got a 5711/1A bought from AD at list.

Going back to OP.
Unless it screams "THIS IS A PATEK!" to other people like the Nautilus does or huge cased watch like the 5070, then values are going to be soft.

Very soft. IMHO very much an acquired taste with a cluttered dial, automatic movement (instead of manual) and bland case.
