What Watch Would Patrick Bateman Wear Today?

In 2000 he wore a DateJust 16013; what would he wear as a Psycho today?

Daytona?

In the novel, he was from a super wealthy family, and given his penchant to be supreme (i.e., the business cards of his colleague being far better), I would see him wearing Patek.

If Rolex, PM Daytona. SkyDweller or DayDate maybe?

I’ve only seen the movie once and never read the book but I’m thinking he would want something easily recognizable. He wants his superiority to be known. I think he’d still go with a Datejust or Day-Date.

No problem; see the movie American Psycho for reference.

Given that he is obsessed with things that are hard to come by(a good Rez, a better apartment) and likes classic brands.. i’d say

Ceramic Daytona or 5711-1a .. even though he could afford anything he wanted.

He wants to fit in.

5711-1a with the blue dial for sure.

And I'm sure he has the 2018 SS Pepsi incoming! However, seeing as he couldn't get a reservation at Dorsia, I'm adding to the narrative that he couldn't get an allocation and is paying premium with a grey, all while telling everyone he got it at retail from an AD

If I were a betting man I'd say a PM Sky-Dweller from Rolex OR a 5711 Blue from Patek!

Didn't you have any wall posters of any celebrity in your room while growing up? I didn't have access to the internet back then and again neither had I owned any smartphone nor had any expensive watches ! Jason Bateman was my teen idol and I grew up watching his TV sitcoms and movies. Did you know he is also a WIS and has a 1979 Rolex Daytona ? Can you identify Jason's watch in this picture? I had one just like him...

Sure, but that was back in the 1970s and early 1980s. Actually, I think they were pictures of cars or chicks or 70s rock bands.

I figured we were all grownups here (just busting your chops).

I have no idea what kind of watch he's wearing in that picture.

Jason is left-handed so that's why the Seiko Diver 6309-704x is on his right wrist
