Removing The Divers Link From A Glidelock Bracelet

If like many Deepsea owners you are truthful then you will admit that you will probably never wear it over a wetsuit which means the divers link clasp is redundant. Now that said what harm is it doing there? Well for a 7" wrist with 2 links removed the glidelock mechanism on maximum tightness is just a couple of mm too short. The solution is to remove the divers link and replace it with a single spare link.

Adding the single spare link over the clasp just gives that perfect fit to some wrist size configurations and allows the glidelock to sit central for average wear and be tightened when cold and lengthened when warm.

Removing the divers clasp regardless just makes the watch feel better on the wrist and when extended it is a full bracelet of links rather than several links and a divers clasp.

Anyway heres the guide.

Tools required:

Screwdriver, Pliers, ThreadLock

The glidelock complete as issued

When opened the divers clasp needs to be fully extended to reveal the screw

Loosen both screws as shown, if you dont have a steady hand or confidence then I suggest you tape over them before you start and put the screwdriver through them

With the screws removed drop the divers link and place back in the box with the papers etc

As you can see the divers clasp is near identical to 2 links

Then replace the divers clasp with a single link, ensuring a tiny spot of thread lock to the screws.

All fitted and adjusted it glides seemlessly and makes the bracelet feel better, look better, and if you know youll never dive then it will never be required. That said it takes all of 5 minutes to refit it

Simply Outstanding, time to purchase 2 spare links and eliminate the divers extention totally.

The pics were a great help in comparing the divers link to the 2 extra links.

I don't own a DSSD but have heard from more than one owner who has done this and agrees, removing the divers extension makes for a better fit.

I dont know why but for me i personally like it with the divers extention. I guess its personal preference.
