Tudor Advisor Alarm Watch - Unique Serial Number?

Guys, I recently picked up a vintage Tudor 10050 Advisor alarm watch. Several websites seem to indicate that these were produced between 1969 and 1977. However, the serial number is 978xxx which the charts date to 1982. And the few other reference 10050's that have popped up for sale all have similar serial numbers as well. So I guess these Advisor cases, with the unique squared off lugs, use a different numbering system that other vintage Tudors? Making it impossible to narrow the year of production down any further than '69 - '77?
