Need opinions on 5504 dial
Hello there!
This is my first message on this community. Few words about myself: I have been an Omega fan but I own an Air King 14000 of 1995 I got for my 20th birthday. After a long period of abstinence, the bug caugh me again and I am now eyeing on a second Rolex. I am not fixed on my choice, and for now, I do window shopping until I fix my choice. Today I saw this 5504 Explorer, and I’d like to have expert’s views on this dial, as I understood the 5500 family has been an active subject for Frankenstein’s experiment. Do you think this dial is legitimate and authentic? Thank you! |

5504 should not have SCOC dial, for a start!

The counterfeiters have successfully taken 100% of the fun out of the 5500-series Explorers. As a 5500 fan I think they're beautiful, but the minefield of frankens is so ubiquitous now that I don't even want to bother. |

Is it fake or just a later service dial?

Thanks for the feedbacks. I guess it only the dial is franke.
What’s about this one? The seller mentions it is a service/recon dial. How do we spot it? And Merry Xmas! |

Hello All.
I am still looking for the graal and there is this one for sale I have looked very hard and I couldn’t find a red flag. The only question mark is the bold font used for the explorer. What do you think? |
