Does wearing any particular watch 'get old'? Sure. Maybe. Sometimes. It depends on the person wearing it.
Wearing a vintage watch or new one is no different. It's all preference. |

Of course that same sort of sentimental value and story can be often seen when people make milestone watch purchases or receive them as gifts (i.e. "I got this from my parents as a graduation gift"). I think it is important to have a non-vintage piece or two. Most would recommend a vintage watch whether a sports model or not be treated in a similar way as a precious metal dress watch, guarding carefully against scratches and water exposure. With a vintage piece you are far more likely, even if you are amongst others who appreciate fine watches to not have the same piece on as someone else in the room. |
