Day-date olive dial is simply amazing!!

Had the privilege to try on the olive dial Day-Date today at Geary’s. I was about ready to pull out my credit card, but realized that I should probably buy the engagement ring I’ve been putting off before I show up with this on my wrist. This one is going to be on my mind for a while. The dealer offered me a 15% discount, think I could probably get him down to ~$31k, what do you guys think, good for it?

$31K? You can get one for $26K BNIB if you look around.

I agree. Trusted sellers here far below $31K and AD has more wiggle room below $31K. I have the green dial but in WG.

I agree with the above comments. I’ve seen trusted sellers have them well below 31k.

I think the contrary. I will buy the expensive items before marriage.

It really is one of the best dials Rolex has. I knew I wanted it after I saw it in real life.

It's a stunning watch in both WG and RG. That dial colour is lovely

I saw that RG DD with the olive dial at Geary's in Santa Monica this past weekend. Seriously steals the show of whatever else was in that case.

Idea: purchase the engagement ring and then buy the watch to commemorate the engagement! It'll be a great piece that will always remind you of when you popped the question then.

It is a stunning watch. Have had my eye on that model for a long time. Although I still have to see the Everose with the green dial. So far, have only seen the white gold and it is stunning as well.

That is one gorgeous watch. I agree with you about the ring but feel for you. That watch is something else.

Let her buy it for you, isn’t an engagement watch the custom in your tribe?

If you wanted to buy an engagement ring it would already be on her finger. Get you watch and continue to decide if you will put a ring on her finger and when.

I may be a little biased...I think the olive dial is one of the best.

I like it in WG, but RG is surely drool worthy as well.

My advice would be to get that watch before you go getting an engagement ring. Once that ring is on her finger, your priorities will suddenly change...like a 30k watch may not fly anymore.

Oh...and definitely look for one from our TS. You should be able to easily beat 31k.

100% agree.

Once you're married a woman might feel more entitled to your assets (read definitely). Secure the DD40 now!

I love it as well, but do you think it would work well as a daily wearer for work (i.e. generally in blue an charcoal suits)?

I didn't think I'd like the DD Olive, but I saw one in person for the first time yesterday and loved the color. Beautiful piece.

Very beautiful! This one has been on my mind too lately. Want to buy the new TT CHNR but also consider DD40 in the RG/Olve-dial combo. Only problem is that I will have to wait longer to comfortably afford this baby.

How is the olive green dial in a bit dimmer indoor light? It always looks so bright in pictures but suspect it will be quite dark in real life?

Beauty. I was recently in the same boat as you with buying the ring or the watch. I bought both but then again the watch wasn't $30k :)

If you have the funds, buy both and enjoy!

Best of luck with the new piece and the lucky lady.

I am one of the lucky ones, in that I have a wife that (somewhat) shares my passion, and understands and allows me to purchase watches when we have the money. From what I've read and seen, not every wife is as generous!!

I do agree that you should get the big purchases out of the way before you get married, as it is a lot easier to take care of yourself then vs. when you have a wife and kids. However, when I was on the hunt for an engagement ring, there was nothing else on my mind, and buying a Rolex would never compete with that one item that I wanted to shower my future wife with. So...make sure she's the one :-)

I'm on my 3rd RGDD40 with olive dial. It's the only piece I've missed after I've sold it. Absolutely my favorite piece in my collection.

If you can find a BNIB RG DD40 olive for 26K, jump on it. I wouldn't get your hopes high on finding one at 26k but if you do good for you. Good luck!

Typically it's hard to touch Grey seller's solid gold prices at an AD, unless you have an amazing relationship.
