2 for 1?

White Nautilus 5711/1A + AP ROO 26400IO for a BNIB 5712/1A? Yay or nay?

These two -

For this -

Your opinion is always highly regarded but may I ask why you think so?

If you look at secondary pricing of both of your watches and add it up, the price of the 5712 makes it a bad deal unless you have a lot of cash going your way.

Lets just say 45k for the 5711 plus maybe 24k for the AP and you are close to 70k. A 5712 can be had for around 50k. Im just ball parking based on chrono 24 prices, but in general its bad for you.

I don't think this is financially a good trade for you either. Alternatively, what makes you think this is a good trade?

Agree with Tyler, both watches for the 5712 is an expensive trade for you. If it was me I would give the AP plus cash and get the 12. The white 11 is too good to go

Fyi, I bought the AP for 25k and the PP for 40k - combined value of 65k. I will lose roughly 10% on each watch when I sell so the total value will drop down to 58.5k. The 5712 is selling for 58K hence I will have some change coming back to me.

58k seems high. Not following the 12 trends that much, but wow. That 11 is going to be hard to replace later. I wouldn't hesitate to flip the AP or pretty much any other watch i would just have a hard time doing it at 58k.

Everything sells for a super premium here in China. For one, there is only one Patek boutique in Shanghai and the wait list for a Nautilus is 10+ years. Both the 5711 and 5712 pops up once or twice a year so the grey dealers have crazy leverage.

I echo the above sentiments and concur that this is a bad trade if it is a straight swap. Even if the 5712 you're looking at is $58k, I'd be really gutted having to let go of both of those watches just to get it. I'd say that you're at a loss of $10k in terms of the market value difference at the very least.

If you're going for a grey dealer on the 5712 and don't mind a bit of travelling, it might be advantageous to go abroad and purchase the watch from a grey in the US or Singapore if the prices in China are that high/supply that low. That's what I would do personally for a watch of this calibre. I've seen them for sale online for below $52k in the States. Good luck

Stick with what you have, you’re not missing out on anything by not having the 5712!

I think you need to just sell the AP Ti and ponder what you want for a bit.....as judging by your recent posts, this isn’t a watch you really love.

Run away with one on each wrist!

Here you wouldn’t be far off a 5990a selling them.

Recently behind the 5990a the 5711a white has become my second favourite Nautilus.

Not to pile on, but sounds like a very bad idea. I get the impression you're not really clicking with the 26400IO (especially given your other thread about trading for SkyD Blue).

I would do it with a bit of cash coming to me. I'll enjoy the 12 while I wait for a blue 11.

Aside from the fact that I do not like the dial on the 5712, I would not trade 2 for 1 in this case

I would def say no prima facie, but then again if you love the 5712 more than the other two combined then I'd sell them, but hunt around for the best deal.
