DD/DD II - President Bracelet
Just wondering if any out there have been smitten w/the DD & DD II President bracelet regardless of precious metal (18kt, Plat). I know it's "only" a bracelet & all wristwatches come with it or a strap. But there seems to be something special about the President bracelet. I may go as far to say the bracelet may be more beautiful then the actual DD/DD II face & bezel. Am I crazy?
The President is so sweet and wickedly good looking. Oh, pricey too. |

It certainly is very beautiful!
In fact, the other day I saw in a jewellery store a set of cufflinks custom made from an 18k YG president bracelet. They were quite a sight but unfortunately the shop was asking £2k and couldn't quite bring myself to spend that much on it! |

You're not crazy. You are simply displaying a fine sense of good taste. I, too, really apreciate Rolex bracelets. The Presidential is a favorite of mine as well as the Super Jubilee. In fact, when I purchased my TOG I often said I liked the SJ as much as the watch. Rolex makes damn fine bracelets.

For me, the DD/DD II is defined by the President bracelet. Any other bracelets like the oyster or leather do not make it look right.
I believe only the DayDates can be had with the President bracelets. |

IMHO... it's the President bracelet that makes the DD what it is. I've seen some DD with the Oyster bracelet and it just doesn't pull off the same presence that the President does...

I think the President is absolutely glorious. I've shared many photos of my watch here on TRF, yet I am unable to capture the true radiance and magnificence of the President when seen in real life. It captures and reflects so much light - amazing is hardly a sufficient adjective.
I certainly think that the DD/DDII is all of a presence - its whole is more than the sum of its parts. From the fluted bezel to the gorgeous dial with golden hands and numerals, and especially the President (or Super President :) bracelet - to me the synergy of all these components make the DD/DDII THE Rolex!! On a somewhat less triumphally jubilant note, I believe ladie's DateJusts in 26 and 31 mm variants are also available on President bracelets.

Agree it is perfectly designed for a dress watch like the DD/DDII. I loved it on mine.
I wouldn't want the clasp on a professional model; the crown is easily snagged in athletic pursuits thus opening the bracelet.

DD Bracelet
Have to say I agree. The bracelet, in my opinion, is a work of art. The fluent movement of the bracelet is beautiful. I have seen the DD on a leather strap just doesnt do it for me.

I spotted a President Bracelet a section away at a baseball game Saturday night. I made my way over to check it out and yes sir, it was indeed a YG Rolex DayDate on a President.
The point being, from far away, I couldn't identify the watch itself, but I sure could for the bracelet ! |

IMHO this is the only acceptable exception to a President bracelet on a DD.
