Whats a good price
So I've decided I want a SS Datejust II Black Face with Romans and the fluted bezel. Since just about no one buys from Mayors, what would you consider a good price on a brand new DJII? I was quoted $6900-7300 which is solid but, I think they can do better though. Im looking for a GREAT price. I live in Florida. If anyone has a dealer let me know!

At 7300 from an AD, imo that is a great price. I just picked one up for 8k from an AD and was content with that.

One like you want was sold on TRF - asking price was $7700ish.
If Mayors has the watch you want at that price then it is a great deal. But if they are quoting for something they don't have - then it could be hot air.

Unless you have never bought from an AD before I would contact one of the sellers here.
Or go gray. |

International Jewelry Exchange in Boca Raton had it for $6900 new full warranty. Any cons with going with an IJW?

A good price is one that is not higher than market price, and you're comfortable paying.

$6.9 k (err.... I'm working off USD) is a very good AD price. You might be able to find better on the forums here, but maybe not -- in fact, likely not (NOT accounting for exchange rates). By "full warranty" do you mean "Rolex 2 yr. warranty" or is there also an AD warranty on top? I got mine (the exact one you're seeking) at an AD here in Chicago, and they do 2 yr. additional warranty on top, for a total of 4 years warranty. I paid more than you're looking at from the folks in Florida, of course.
BTW, it's an exceptionally-crafted piece. If you look at it under a jeweler's loupe, you'll see that the surrounds on the Roman numerals is done in a white gold flecking that is amazing. It's a really good show of craftsmanship, even if it is mass-produced. |
