For those who love and own(ed) Datejust, would you prefer 16234 model or the newer 116234? Would you please state your likes/dislikes (if any)? I am in the market for it and cannot decide. I like the older model because it's not as thick but the newer model, well, it's newer.
thanks guys.

BTW, I used to frequent this site years ago until my itch went away. it's nice to be back

I have a relatively new 116234, which has has the super jubilee bracelet, other than that I can not comment on the differences.

Love my DJ. This was my first Rolex and at the time thought it might be my only one. This seemed to me to be the classic.

Had this one for just over a year, love wearing it for the comfort, versatility and it's ability to command respect.

I would say both.

My GF remembered the story I told her about my ex-wife who promised me a Rolex when I turn 50. But sadly that didn't happen because I got separated 2 years ago and was officially divorced earlier this year. I know she told me last year that I might get a Rolex before I turn 50. But I didn't believe her thinking she was just trying to boost my spirit. To my surprise, she gave me one before I turned 49 last month.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about!

My TT DJ is actually my "tool" watch. It's my everyday driver work watch. OK, I work in a S&T but it's still my tool watch. Weekends and travel - that's a different story for different Rolexes.

Second post on rolex forums, has anyone put a stainless band on a 16031?
My watch came with aftermarket band and the only authentic bands I can find are only stainless, no two tones. Anybody have a two tone crown with a stainless band?

Thanks!
