1975 Vintage?
I'm about to purchase my first vintage rolex as a 1975 birth year piece. I found a beautiful 1501 model with box and papers. The papers show it was sold in 1975 but the serial number is 375XXXX, which makes me think it was actually made in 1973 or 1974. I know there's no science to serial numbers but would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks!

A 3.75 serial number could definitely be sold during 1975. The serial number charts are "guesstimates" at best which get you close to the year determined by the author of the chart that you happen to be looking at.
