5512 Military Submariner
I'm interested in learning more about this dial, could it be a service replacement? also I was of the understanding that the military Submariners came with solid bars to hold the Nato strap ? this one in question is apparently a 5512 with pointed crown guards. that dates around 1960/61. does anyone own or know more about these?

There were two small batches of military issue 5512s circa 1960.
The dial on the one pictured could not have been fitted to the watch at that time --- but that is not to say the watch is otherwise incorrect. Fixed bars....hmmm. I have correspondence with Henry Hudson on file about my own, which has some, but they are crude. My belief is that the c.1960 military 5512 did not generally have fixed bars, but they were clearly experimenting with different formats... Haywood

If I recall correctly, I believe I know of someone who has a military issued 5512 with non fixed bars.

Good point. Weren't the (T) dials only on the post 1972 order of 5513 and 5517's?
