Help needed 5513
I need help from the community. I’m out for my first vintage piece and need your opinion about this 5513. I checked the reference number (1.3 mil) which places its year at 1966.
The watch belongs to a private collector. Box, no papers, but documented provenance from a respected auction house in South America. I would like to hear the opinion from the experts here at the forum. -cdn.com/20180413/51db2edcd3978431f1b5a87186493d32.jpg[/IMG][IMG]

No expert but for starters the dial should be a gilt dial......seems too early for even meters first. Crown looks like a triple lock replacement......case looks decent enough along with a suspiciously pristine long 5 insert that looks right. Let others chime in.....just my opinion from a glance.

I would ask for a pic of the caseback engraving so to see the stamped date. Also the stamped date of the bracelet clasp. |

Thanks for the comments. I am having a lot of fun learning more about this reference. Just saw the web page by BEAUMONT MILLER IIA: COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF THE 5513 MATTE DIAL. A lot of useful information there. What drew my attention to this piece was the dark color of the patina and the nice way that the markers match so well with the hands. If this is not the original dial, it must have been a very early replacement.
Agree about the insert. Probably a more recent replacement. I had not noticed the triple lock crown... |

Thanks for the comments.
I got a few more pictures. Looks like a watch that had many parts replaced over the years. The buckle also does not seem to be consistent with the riveted bracelet. I am not sure if this is worth it even if the price is attractive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It all depends on the price but if you want a collectors piece this is not what you are looking for

Completely mixed up.
Dial not period correct and looks relumed to me. Wrong clasp added to the 7206 bracelet. I would definitely pass! |

I agree with the previous replies... I would add that I need a better picture of the caseback 'cause I don't see the date engraved in.
