Anything with stones or jewels.

Just personal preference.

Part of me agrees (a big part). Then I remind myself how little my opinion matters in this context, since most of those that don't appeal to me are items I could never afford anyhow and my passing judgment on them is meaningless.

Way too many people are way too easily offended these days, and way too many people are worried about hurting the feelings of others. We can talk about our favorite Rolex models but not our least favorites?

Not me. I'm way too old school for that. I absolutely loathe the Yacht-master II and the leopard Daytona. In fact, I wouldn't wear either if you gave them to me for free. I strongly dislike the rainbow Yacht-master and any Rolex with diamonds. I am not a fan of the Cellini nor the Milgauss, and I don't like any of the no date models.

Having said that, if you happen to like any of the models I don't like, good for you and welcome to the good ol' U.S. of A., where reasonable minds can disagree.

I’m not bashing any ones watch for goodness sakes, I’m stating which Rolex I’m least likely to purchase. I assume we’re all grown men here and can have objective discussions on watches and different styles. . My opinion of a watch doesn’t make it any less attractive or desirable for someone else. I would rather someone tell me the truth rather than lie just to appease me. I’m shopping around for a Sub date, I love the watch and if anyone on the board tells me they’re not likely to purchase a Sub because they don’t like its styling, then who am I to judge? No ones opinion will change my love for the Sub, hell that watch sings to me! Apologies if I offended anyone.

The 1655 Explorer and original Daytona’s probably fell into this category back in day.

There are a few but the Yachtmaster II stands out. I absolutely despise that watch and "despise" is a strong word for me.

In general, I would never buy a Yachtmaster, Yachtmaster II, or Sky-Dweller.

I stay clear of precious metal as well beyond the white gold used in the sports models.

It’s impossible to please everyone. There will always be a model that doesn’t work for someone. I find that there is beauty and craftsmanship in just about every Rolex. That doesn’t mean I’d own every model, but I can appreciate them nonetheless.

I am actually a bit surprised by all the YMII hate in this thread. I think it's a pretty neat looking watch. My wrists are too small to pull off the 44mm size, but I've seen people wearing a solid YG one here and there and man does that thing catch your eye. I understand that the complication (and as a result, busy dial) is frivolous to 99% of owners and the big "YACHT MASTER II" branding on the bezel is aggressive. However, for a big 44mm YG watch, you're clearly looking to make a statement with it.

Putting aside all the "exotic" pieces such as the leopard Daytona and jewel-encrusted watches, there aren't really any watches I have a strong dislike for from the current, standard line-up. I'd say my least favorite and bottom of my list sits the AK. I just find the current dial aesthetically confusing with different fonts, colors, and text size differences.

5 digit Subs=crappy, tinny blaclets, garbage clasp, cheap aluminum bezel, skinny drilled lugs and sapphire crystal. Plus’s everybody has one or two. If I throw a rock out my back door I’ll likely hit a Submariner.

6263. No one bought theses for 18 years. Tiny! girly! Famine! Dainty a girls watch. No in-house movement. Fixed plastic bezel. Rivited bracelet. Screw down pushers, manual wind. Never flew on Apollo.

Vintage 4 digit DJ’s. Small ladies watches, stretched out ratty jubilee bracelets. Oh and that god awful cyclops. Oh the 70’s called and wants their flutter bezel back.

And don’t even get me started on the Tudor line. Cheep knockoffs of the real thing. Why any one would wear on is beyond me.

....oh wait...I may have read the question wrong...never mind.

Not a fan of the Milgauss, could never picture owning one. Also, I’m not an engineer so that is one factor working against it. Even if I got it at a steal, I’d probably still pass.

YMll, If I were yachting and Rolex sponsored our team with watches I guess I could use it. But it'd be right of my wrist on land. TT Daytonas are pretty weird, Airkings are a third place runner up.

Wow, talk about dodging a bullet!!

I was at an AD yesterday with a good friend trying on the YM II.

My mind was made up to purchase it and just as I was handing over my credit card to the salesman my friend who was reading TRF yelled out.

Stop Mon he shouted!!!

Look here he said as he handed me his phone, there's a guy on TRF that doesn't like the YM II.

I quickly put my card back in my pocket and we left the store.

5 more seconds and it would have been too late.

Thank God for TRF.

Sub date I absolutely detest. Why anyone would buy such an awful watch with that date and cyclops is beyond me especially when one can buy the perfect 114060. Anyway the Sub date is an eye sore and worst watch I have ever seen and I would never be caught wearing such an ugly watch! Love these threads and thanks for sharing!

With regards to the Yacht-Master, a friend of mine absolutely hated the platinum dial. That was until the day I showed up with one and he literally said "wow, I didn't expect this at all, it looks sublime. Don't you ever sell this piece."

As far as the YM II is concerned, I've never liked it on pictures. Until the day I saw one in the flesh being worn by a work colleague. I found it much more interesting in the flesh and could see myself sporting one. It was a two-tone RG which I'm usually not a fan of but for some reason it seemed to work quite well.

I loved the Hulk before I had a chance to see one at the AD and since then I know it's not for me.

All I'm saying is I've learnt one thing, wait till you see it in the flesh.
