PAM 233 I-series without papers

Hi all

New to the forum - need advice from you good folks.

I have the option to but a PAM 233 I-series in perfect condition from a dealer in the US.

Comes without original box and papers. Seller is “Trusted Seller” on chrono24, has a legit website and solid customer reviews. It is a physical store and not a private seller. Pictures look good.

Watch is more than three years old so I do not need the papers for warrenty and I do not care that much for the box since I never intend to sell this watch.

Price is pretty good for a 233 at around 7.000$

Good idea or bad idea?

Thanks!

Don't do it!

Go to DavidSW and look at his 233 with box and papers. Ask him for a deal. May be about the same as the one you are looking at in price.

I have used Chrono24 and prefer dealing with the brick and mortar stores that sell, sounds like the seller is reliable, make sure you use your credit card and the trusted checkout. Good luck.

I would buy the seller. Without box and papers, I think you can buy one for ~$6500. GL!
I wouldn't let box and papers deter you from purchasing a PAM 233.

I think the price is fair assuming everything is legit otherwise. I am sure you could always source a Panerai box if you really wanted one.

I look at it this way, I think you'd be getting a fan favorite piece that's already on the secondary market at a good price. Even IF you wanted to resell it without the box, I still think you'd be able to get a similar price to what they are asking provided condition remains the same. Regular production Panerai pieces all take a hit on the secondary market, you've already weathered that. I don't think the box matters much at this point as long as your purchase is protected and you get some form of authenticity.
