Tudor submariner on eBay - quite remarkable

I would love to hear some feedback on this one. I want to think it’s legit, but I’m torn. The dial is redone. The insert looks good. The movement is the brass one which is incorrect.

The case, which is very unusual, is bugging me. Could this case be a fake? It’s just so clean. The caseback. I don’t like the stamping inside the back. But the mid case looks right but way to clean when face down and no back

Sorry if I’ve offended anyone on here

A seller in Vietnam sells these cases on the 'bay from time to time.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vintage-...p2047675.l2557

there you go. Mystery solved. Same fake case.

The case looks way too meaty and lacks the finesse of the genuine article, lugs are too heavy and the rehaut grabbs too much visual space round the dial.

This is EXACTLY my thought.

Always look at the Rehaut.

I called out the guy on eBay and told him to bring his so called 15 page expert report over to our conversation. I would love to see who this so called expert is. Linesiders should have a field day with this one.

The fakers are getting better and better. What do we do when the fakes become exactly the same as the originals?

I ain't buying vintage anymore except from trusted specialists whom I know are 100% legit. And even then I'm not totally sure... Certainly not buying from Fleabay.

I’m not buying vintage anymore period.....what I have I will keep 1655,1675, 5513, 1680......the legit stuff is too expensive and too many fakes out there that will kill the value the of the real pieces eventually.....what a shame

Guys - this is not remotely good. I know there are so few of these out there and they run the gamut from excellent (Michel& Adam) to beaten and ridden hard (mine) but the case is VERY similar to the PCGs. So the thickness of the Ebay case should be immediately suspect.

Please drop me a PM when you see one of these if you have any doubt

eBay says there were 12 bids and it’s “sold out.” Was it taken down?
